My Dear Inner Wheel Friends,

My warm wishes and greetings to all.

This is my last message to you as District Chairman 2013/2014. I take this opportunity to thank my Outgoing Committee members for their support, and for standing by my side this year. I have had a wonderful year as District Chairman. I congratulate the Incoming Committee members and wish them all the very best.

We had our Inner Wheel Workshop on the 17th of May 2014. It was well attended by 70 members from 15 clubs. Many of them have expressed their appreciation to the speakers at the Workshop. Whether these workshops will be continued in years to come, will be in the decision of the Incoming Committee. I hope that my target of getting the members to be more confident of taking on positions in the clubs has been achieved.

My congratulations to all the incoming Presidents and Office bearers of the 18 clubs. It is important to have a yearly change of leadership in the clubs. This change of leadership keeps the rhythm of Inner Wheel rolling. Nothing is too difficult or too impossible. We simply have to set our priorities right and manage our time well. Those with young children, teach them basic home management. When I was President of my club, my 3 children were aged 8, 14 and 16. I set down some house rules and divided up the house work among them. You will be surprised as to how much a child can learn when left alone!

As for me now, I have to get back to my office work and my gardening. I have been growing a mini jungle in my garden in this past year. An effortless way to green the world!

I will now step aside and make way for Light the Path.

Congratulations PIIWBD Rathy Mahendran

All Inner Wheel members of District 330 extend heartiest congratulations to PIIWBD Rathy Mahendran of IWC Taiping, for being awarded the Rotary International "Rotarian Spouse/Partner Service Award" for 2013/2014. This very special annual award is presented to a spouse of an active Rotarian, who herself is active in various community services. The award will be presented to her at the Rotary District 3300 District Awards Nite 2013/2014, sometime in June 2014. We are indeed proud of Rathy's achievement and we wish her many more successes.
