My dear Inner Wheel friends,

The month of September is upon us and I will be starting my club visits this month. I will be starting with my own Inner Wheel Club of Klang. The past two months I have attended several installations and anniversaries. I also had the good fortune to attend the meetings of two new Inner Wheel Clubs in our District. First, the Inner Wheel Club Pearl of the Orient, Penang, and second, the Inner Wheel Club of Ioras, Ipoh. I take this opportunity to thank both the Immediate Past Extension Chairman as well as the current Extension Chairman and their committee members for their tireless efforts in the formation of these two clubs. The Charter Installation of the Inner Wheel Club Pearl of the Orient, Penang will be held on the 28th September 2013. I hope to see as many Inner Wheel members there as possible. Let us welcome these ladies into our District with open arms.

Other than my visit to my Inner Wheel Club of Klang on the 4th September, I will also visit Inner Wheel Club of Petaling Jaya on 14th September and Inner Wheel Club of KL North on 21st September.

I have also attended the Joint AGM Committee meeting in Singapore. As expected, the costs for us will be more than having the AGM here in Peninsula Malaysia. I urge all members to make an effort to try and attend this AGM which will be on the 21st and 22nd March 2014 in Singapore. The meetings will be held in Tanglin Club and the Fellowship Night at Gardens by the Bay and the Banquet Night at the Orchard Parade. I have been to see the venue and I must say that I understand the challenges that District 331 is undergoing to keep Registration at a reasonable price. Negotiations with the hotels are still underway and I will inform all members of the best possible deal. My first AGM after I joined Inner Wheel was in Singapore when PDC Phyllis Fong was the District Chairman. After that, the last time we had an AGM in Singapore was in 2007 when National Representative Dr.Lucy Ooi was the District Chairman. So now after 7 years, let us try and make this AGM 2014 a success.
