Food Bank

On 21st May 2023, the Inner Wheel Club of Selangor approached IWCJB Charter President Sumathi to help a family at Batu Pahat who was going through a difficult time.

Since IWCJB has an ongoing Foodbank project, it was decided that the members could come together to help this family. With Vindhu, an IWCJB member leading the way, the members of IWCJB extended their support by contributing small funds to purchase groceries for the family. Through the proper coordination and resourcefulness of Vindhu, the acquisition of vouchers from Lotus allowed the family to choose and purchase essential items themselves.

The family was ensured by Vindhu that there would not be any logistical issues in obtaining their groceries by sending them the cost of the Grab ride to Lotus.

Subsequently, on 11th June 2023, President Amy Nair visited the family at Batu Pahat. During her visit, the remaining Lotus vouchers were given to the family and they were surprised with KFC meal as well.

It was amazing to realize how the power of collective action helped to make a difference in the lives of those in need.

The family expressed their deep gratitude for the support they received during these difficult times.
