Free Bread And Pastry Course At Kolej Komuniti Seberang Jaya

The Inner Wheel Club of Butterworth organised a free course on Bread & Pastry making at Kolej Komuniti Seberang Jaya on 2nd October 2022 from 9.00am till 4.30pm. This course was paid for with the grant obtained by the Club from Registrar of Societies (ROS), Penang.
A total of 20 participants took part including 5 members of the Inner Wheel Club of Butterworth led by Club President Datin Santhi Sundara. The Participants were in the age range between 18 to 45 with a mixture of working women and housewives. Eight out of the twenty participates are already operating small home-based bakery businesses and encouragement was given to the housewives in the group to do the same.
Participants basically were taught 3 tart recipes, shown the ropes on contemporary tart-making techniques and creative presentation of the finished product. The techniques of using tools and equipment were also demonstrated and identifying the various ingredients for use while applying correct food safety and sanitation methods were discussed. Overall, it was a fun-filled yet hands-on workshop.
Everyone enjoyed the experience very much and more programmes that encourage women-empowerment will be organised soon by the Inner Wheel Club of Butterworth. All attendees who enrolled for the course were also given Certificates of Participation much to their delight.
