A Project Within A Project
Inner Wheel Club of Penang

Three Club members of the Inner Wheel Club of Penang (IWC Penang) took 12 children from the Ramakrishna Orphanage accompanied by one supervisor on an exciting trishaw ride through the Georgetown heritage enclave on the beautiful morning of 11th June 2022.
This was in support of their sister-club, the Inner Wheel Club of Pearl of the Orient’s project to reach out to help the Penang Trishaw Riders who work tirelessly under the hot sun plying their trade. Hence, this effort was undertaken to help out these hardworking gents during these difficult times when their livelihoods have been badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The trishaw uncles as they are fondly known, earned RM50 per ride plus extras collected through kind donations. This is typical of Inner Wheel members’ cooperation and support of one another’s projects.
