- Friendship Across the Sea
ISO Viji Kishen of IWC Taiping met for coffee with ISO Tina Lee, President Gina Lee and District Chairman Datin Gillian Chung of the Inner Wheel Club Kota Kinabalu, D331 on 9th April 2022 at Sutera Harbour Resort, Sabah, East Malaysia. ISO Viji Kishen was on a family vacation to Sabah and took the opportunity to arrange for the meet up.
The ladies had interesting exchanges on club and district activities, effects of the Pandemic on club activities and plans for future physical meetings. Both the ISOs exchanged their club bannerettes, a first physical exchange for both parties and parted with fond memories and a new friendship sealed.

IWC Taiping once again decided to help Lalitha Devi Thuresh, a Form 3 student of SMK Klian Pauh, Taiping. Her mother is a single parent and she has 2 other younger siblings. She is a very sweet, pleasant and hardworking girl. IWC Taiping through club member, Mrs Harbhajan Kaur has been helping her to pay her school bus fare for 2 months in 2022. Other than that, she also been personally donating milk packets, biscuits, buns and breakfast whenever the need arises. Another member Mrs Ong Bok Kin also gave a personal cash donation to sponsor the student’s breakfast. IWC Taiping has been helping her since 2021 and planned to continue helping her in future.
- Finale meeting
IWC Taiping held the final club meeting for the term 2021-2022 on 3rd June 2022. As usua,l the meeting was started with the lighting of the candle and reciting the Candle of Friendship poem. In President Karamjeet’s address she mentioned that she enjoyed her term as President despite the challenges of the Pandemic and family commitments.
The club has carried out many projects focusing on girls, women, mentally challenged children and economically less fortunate families. The 2nd half of the term, the members could meet physically and most meetings were followed by fellowship and pot luck dinners.
She thanked her committee and members for their support and help rendered for all the projects and meetings. She quoted ‘No (Wo)Man is an Island’. -John Donne.
Members praised and congratulated her for a job well done. The meeting ended but the fellowship continued with friendly chatting and a sumptuous pot luck dinner.
