Food aid runs to the needy
Inner Wheel Club of Melaka
12 November 2021
Inner Wheel Club Of Melaka members relentlessly carried out another food distribution run on 12th November 2021. Encouraged by the club’s personal service towards the marginalised communities in Melaka, members organised the food runs and distributed essentials to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Villa Harapan, St Peter’s Church, Senior Care Home for Women, Agape Care Organisation and a mother with 2 handicapped children.
While at Villa Harapan the Home Manager, Pn Hawa briefed them on the set-up of the Home, the 131 mentally challenged and homeless residents who range from 23 to 86 years and the Organisations that provided support and assistance to the Home. She welcomed IWCM’s Food & Essential contributions and added that there has been a decline in the frequency of food assistance from companies and organisations since the pandemic outbreak in the country.
The Club was also glad to provide essentials towards the St Peter’s Cupboard for the Poor, a project run by St Peter’s Church, Melaka; the Agape Care Organisation and a needy mother taking care of 2 handicapped children.
The Club thanks the Malaysian Red Crescent Society 4x4 Team for contributing their food supplies and essentials towards the series of food aids project for the underprivileged and Homes.
