Water poverty challenge: Kuala Lumpur and Alor Setar inter-club project
Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur
23 June 2021
The Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur and the Inner Wheel Club of Alor Setar jointly carried out a project to distribute water filters and other items to cancer survivors. IWCKL funded 14 units of the water filters and IWC Alor Setar deployed in their locale. On 23 June 2021, at 3 pm, President Mrs Caylize Sabado handed the water filters to Tunku Maziah binti Tunku Mukhtar at her residence.
Tunku Maziah, who is a member of IWCKL and acting as the liaison of IWC Alor Setar, received the water filters on their behalf. Inner Wheel is made stronger because of the familial ties we have between clubs. President Caylize was accompanied by PP Elena Teoh and Ms Angie Tai.
As the end of the Inner Wheel year approached, the momentum built up for President Caylize. She has been undaunted and unfazed by the changing restrictions imposed due to COVID-19 which required quick and creative decision-making. She started her year with the Amazing Races. With this joint project, she breasted the tape and reached the finishing line before 30 June. Kudos to President Caylize and the IWCKL team.
A big thank you to Club Advisor, District Extension Chairman Juanita Lee, for her unfailing dedication to the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur. Throughout the Inner Wheel year, she worked alongside President Caylize in all the projects, especially in organising the arrangements for water filters with the supplier and coordinating the successes of the Water Poverty Challenge projects.
Well done! Together they are able to “Lead The Change”!
