Empowering women in business
Inner Wheel Club of Taiping
10 April 2021
The coronavirus pandemic has created great uncertainties in the lives of the vast majority of the B40 group who are desperate for survival. How can we help? Inner Wheel Club of Taiping, led by Toh Puan Datin Norisha Abdul Rahman, decided to take action and launched a project in collaboration with Pertubuhan Wanita Ikhlas Taiping Perak (PWITP) and Gerak Bumi Hijau (GBH), and with funding by Yayasan Hasanah. The project undertook the training of 30 ladies in the basics of cake and bread making, and cooking various rice dishes, as a business.
The highlight was on 10 April 2021 when the trainees, trainers and the facilitators received certificates in a grand ceremony. But that was not the end because for the next 3 months these trainees will be monitored and helped by the trainers and facilitators in their progress.
The Inner Wheel Club of Taiping gives recognition to our 6 ladies: Toh Puan Datin Norisha Abdul Rahman, Sally Woo, Harvinder Kaur, Viji Kishen, Karamjeet Kaur and Rathy Mahendran who put all their effort in helping to make this project a success.
There is satisfaction in the knowledge that there is hope and safety for the future of these ladies and their families which makes the project even more meaningful.
