Six members of IWC Butterworth led by President Daisy R Veluppillai, completed the Basic Counselling Skills workshop organised by Someone For Each One {SFEO} Programme. The SFEO project, an initiative by Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara (PEM) in collaboration with Penang Association of Counsellors & Psychologists (PACP), is about establishing a support system manned by professionals and trained volunteers to help people with emotional and other mental health challenges.
Members actively participated in the training via online workshops and submitted their questionnaires and journals diligently until the end of May 2021. This initiative was undertaken to enhance IWC Butterworth members' skills and effectiveness as volunteers when dealing with depression, aptly during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
